PITCH PROPOSAL
a) Overview: (1/2 page max) Big picture of the game, main quest, main players, etc.
Our game is a Sims-like single player experience. The player is a individual moving to a new city with big dreams of converting the townspeople into devoted cult followers. The game begins by allowing the player some choices of customization. For example, the player can choose a color that represents their people, what their cult is interested in, etc. After the initial customization stage, the player then begins the main part of the game. They can interact with NPCs in order to recruit them to the cult. Originally, the player can talk to NPCs, but once they’ve recruited at least one to the cult, they start to receive weekly offerings of money. They can then use the money to buy gifts to recruit other players, keep their current followers happy by throwing social events/giving gifts, or to buy businesses which will further increase the spread of their cult and weekly income.
b) The Quest: (1/2 page max) Describe the quest in further detail, obstacles, rewards, and the final objective. Is the game broken into levels or intermediate stages of gameplay?
The quest of the game involves the growing of one’s cult organization through various choices and actions. Start a business and gain profit to fund your various outreach projects. Compete with other cults starting up in the town and aim to be the best. You will not rest until the whole town is recruited.
c) Main Character: (1/2 page max) Describe main character, powers, change with gameplay, first-person, third-person?
You are smart, witty, and charming. You’ve seen so many start cults and succeed- why can’t you? The game is seen from a top down view as you navigate town, recruit cult members, and increase your influence.
d) Sketch of Main Character: (1 page max) A sketch of the Main Character.
e) Opponents: (1/2 page max) Describe main opponents, intelligence, attack, hide, or evade?

f) Sketch of Opponents: (1 page max) A sketch of the primary Opponents.
N/a, no opponents
g) Environment: (1/2 page max) Description of the environment in which the game is played, outer space, urban, futuristic, etc.
The environment is going to be a small, rural town in Kansas. Very open plains with some forested areas and corn fields to make the world feel isolated. We want it to feel like a small town in Kansas that doesn’t have many visitors and the townspeople rarely leave.
h) Sketch of World: (1 page max) A sketch of the level in which the game is played.

i) Menus: (1/2 page max) initial menu screen and any options include a sketch.

The music will be upbeat and 8-bit. Different parts of the map and buildings will be playing different music. There will be slower more serene music playing on the main menu and pause screens. l) Summary (1/2 page max): This is the final sales pitch. Include a brief summary that would make someone want to buy your game!
You arrive at a small town in Kansas with nothing but yourself and a dream – a dream to start your very own cult. In Cult Simulator you have the chance to be the leader of a cult. You can choose your values, recruit members, build structures and take over the small town of Happy Valley. Strategize the best ways to recruit members, convince townspeople to trust you, and work your way to the top of the town. Watch as your cult grows and becomes more and more present in the town, and beware of competition from other cults in the area. It’s your choice whether to be a benevolent or an evil cult, but either way you want to keep growing until you’ve taken over the whole town!
